Blueseed are dedicated to leading Vietnam’s ad-tech industry. Our data science program development is a key part of this direction and we’re always looking to build human resources in this incredibly fast moving space. Blueseed has enjoyed a close relationship with John von Neumann Institute – a part of the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year we joined with JVN in sponsoring their Entropy Data Analytics Competition. Not only did this give Blueseed the opportunity to support some of Vietnam’s best young mathematical minds but also to involve them in a specific challenge based around Blueseed’s own network data. Direct exposure to this type of ‘live’ data enabled the finalists (20 out of over 200 contestants qualified for the final round after passing the 3 qualifying rounds) to challenge themselves on a real world problem.

The results were outstanding, all finalists presented their solutions on the 15th of July. Blueseed’s Head of Data Strategy – Bill Crang joined the judging committee and was very impressed with the talent on display. He said “the standard of the contestants and the deep understanding they displayed of the challenge and the onlkine advertising industry itself was extremely impressive. We’re very excited to be a part of such an exciting event and to see the fantastic work of all the finalists. We’re definitely hoping to work with some of these talented young data scientists as they develop their careers!”
